Bonjour Les Gens
Let me guess, you are scratching your heads and wondering
why the title is in French. Aaand you probably thought that this whole blog was
in French. Aaand you were going to go back but then you thought, “Hmm,
everything else is in English, so this blog might be too, let’s give it a shot.”
And clicked here. Now who’s giving me the award for the best interpreter?
Okay fine. I’ll stop now.
But for real, you did wonder about the title, right? Well, I
have a completely rational explanation for my French-iness. This year in
school, we are studying European history. And the most first chapter was,
drumroll please, FRENCH REVOLUTION.
Now, you see, the chapter was about how Paris became the
fashion capital of the world, you know, Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and stuff.
And we enjoyed it so much, all the pictures of best designs of the world. Crazy,
right? Yes, except none of that happened. We were stuck reading King Louis XVI
and how the prices of bread rose in eighteenth century France and how the above
said country became a republic (France’s a republic, right?) and blah blah
blah.
Buuut, to be honest, the chapter wasn’t as boring as I made
it sound. It’s pretty interesting, only if you read it like a story. Then nothing
will go over your head. Same goes with anything you study in history. But yeah,
learning those long, one-page-filling questions turns me off. Like, really. There’s
so much of irrelevant information, I don’t know why do they even include that. I
mean, if they want us to know that, it’s fine. But if they want us to LEARN ALL
OF THAT, I’m done.
So yeah, this was pretty much it. I know most of you out
there, teenagers, are struggling with this Beautiful subject called history and
so, this is how I try to cope up with
its wonders.
Je dois vous dire adieu. L'espoir de vous revoir!

You're right. History is interesting, it's like a story. But cramming everything is the worst part 😒
